Fury over plan to fell Memorial Garden trees
A plan to cut down 25 trees in Rochdale Memorial Gardens has sparked anger. Residents are dismayed with the council for failing to consult them before giving the scheme the green light. Work has already begun on felling the trees to restore the gardens to the original 1940s design which includes an ‘axis of remembrance’.
